CZECHMEP or Czech Model European Parliament is our main event. It is a national Model European Parliament (MEP) conference, held once a year.
How does MEP work?
Delegates meet in Committees to draft a resolution on a particular issue that is usually under consideration of the respective real EU Parliamentary Committee. The drafted resolution is then sent to the General Assembly. Each Committee then acts as the proposing committee to defend its own resolution. Delegates from outside the proposing Committee have the opportunity to improve and refine the resolution, debate upon it, attack it, and finally, to vote on it. Throughout the event, a strict code of conduct is applied by the Presidency to keep the debates professional and civilised. All participants are required to speak English throughout the event.
